Night Out Dining@CIRCUS, Pavillion.

It was a Tuesday and a dedicated girls night out for noms!
.
.
.
But before I start, can you believe how ridiculously long my hair has gotten?

Thanks to Teng, Emil and Alex of The Met, Park Royal, I've managed to grow my hair out after years without success.
Now it is finally a follicle frock, I am not quite sure what to do with it.

Can barely keep my hair in the camera frame any more :/

So anyhow, back to ladies and dainty chewing!
I kept hearing about the new CIRCUS in town, perfectly nestled in Pavillion, so good to finally put a face to the place.

Prime location, artsy fartsy decor and gazillion cam-whore opportunities, we likey.

Dining damsels Brigette Liberty, Michelle Ooi and Jasiminne Yip!

We were introduced to the 5 course 'Festival' Menu in conjunction with the Malaysia International Gourmet Festival of 2012 and how could I resist;

It came with an alcohol pairing option.

Bottoms up indeed ;)

Famished in a dress that was too tiny, simple portions with strong flavors were a blessing.

First up was the Parmesan Grissini with Bresaola which was basically a super strong parmesan stick wrapped in cured ham and sprinkled with cheese.

Photobucket

It came paired with a French 75.
*nibbles like a carrot*
First appetiser approved if you like a flavorful cheese.

Round two was then cold Chilli Crab Cake tower with organic salad.

Photobucket

I'm not the biggest fan on cold appetisers but I wiped mine clean :)
The towers were the thinnest crackers you could eat the crab cake on.
*nibbles like lettuce*
The La Palma, Sauvignon Blanc that came with it was so smooth and rounded, I did mistaken it for a NZ Cloudy Bay (That is a compliment for a Chilean wine by the way.)

Next for the starter, Crispy Wild Mushroom Risotto was served!

Photobucket

NOTE: Eat. Piping. Hot!
It's gummy, gooey goodness and the mushrooms were a perfect light addition, only heavy on flavor.
Argentinian Terrazaz Chardonnay paired nicely.

Palatte Cleanser came next and it was a very refreshing Lime Granite.

Photobucket

Seriously, I could eat a whole bowl of for dessert.
But before we got there, I had one more plate to polish;
Between the fish or beef main choices, I went for the Wagyu Beef Tenderloin.

Photobucket

Medium Rare?

Photobucket

Oh yeah.
The potato towers were stuffed with some cream that was uber yums.

Photobucket

A good ol' Aussie red Tyrells Moores Creek could not wash over the delicious bloody after taste only a perfectly medium rare tenderloin could muster.

In other words, good pairing :)

By then, I was just about full and the Lavender Creme Brulee was all I could gastronomically accommodate.

Photobucket

With a German Riesling to help if go down, of course :)

*satiety sigh*

If you like what you saw, feel free to check it out yourself!
I'd recommend this for a light yet filling spread, good location, artsy ambience and also music to start off a weekend night out.

Full Menu for the Malaysia International Gourmet Festival by Chef David Caral for CIRCUS below.

For those of you who don't drink, there is a non wine paired menu too.
Cheap date, you. And designated driver ;)

Might stop by to see when they have live performances sometime.

Big kisses for YourEsty for the introduction and CIRCUS invites!

I'll end with an Andy Warhol quote to have you avant garde inspired.
