Reality Escapes Her.: Where I met my hair soulmates: THE MET, KL.

I've been in a blond (undertone) phase for almost 2 years now, to make up in visibility what I lacked in hair length.

And I promised myself to go darker as my hair grew longer to have a more chiseled and classic look.

So before Raya 2011, I did.

.....a New York inspired salon in Malaysia, THE MET, KL!

Placed right across Sungai Wang at the entrance of Park Royal Hotel, it was an easy find.

Maybe for me anyway, one who is attracted to bright, shiny objects ;p

It is REDKEN County y'all!

Forget their huge range of Redken products, they have Professional Haircolorist certified by Redken 5th Ave, New York!
So no surprise that The Met is well known for managing celebrity cuts and colors in KL.

So coming in psyched by their professional repertoire,

I waited while filling my chick mag munchies....

...and was almost ready to take a plunge for Olivia Wilde worthy bangs as she rocks it with her strong jawline...

...However, I will listen to Alex, The Met's Senior Style Expert, when he said that I shouldn't :(

Teng, The Met's Hue Master, decided that my desire for darker locks would suit my personality better if it stood out more and told me to trust her to give me........OLIVE highlights?

Like, that thingie they put in James Bond's shaken not stirred?

Oui.
I said I'm not sure, she said trust her and I guess I was too polite to say,'OMG R U SRIIUS'
Plus being one of the five certified color technicians in the whole country, who was I to question her :)

Shortly after, the process began!

A cuts a cut right?
Not with award winning Senior Style Expert Alex it ain't.
It took twice as long and every cut he made was meant to serve my hair tips better..

He gave me a 'transient length' cut and with his history with Toni and Guy, known for their easily maintainable cuts, I felt happy to know I can keep the look after I go all hobo at home.

And you know you love a stylist when he says
'Sorry if it takes longer than you are used to, I just really love what I do.'

AWWWWW :)))))

The Hue Master, Teng, then stepped in to start the lightening for selected highlight areas!
Was eager to see what I'd get...

...and felt so 'JENG' or shockingly stand-out after.
Oh well, it is just Phase 1.

Next up Redken Extreme Cat Conditioning...

..Before Phase 2 of toning and hair dye begins!

Teng told me Malaysia just got Redken's latest home care product range and she'd be trying it on me
(It is so new even she has yet to use it!).

It's called Redken Nature Rescue and is meant to detoxify your hair.

Sign me up please for my first ever....hair scrub!?

Super refreshing and my scalp didn't feel itchy or smell as bad after the usual dye.
The product smelled almost tea like with a hint of ocean freshness.
I'm a fan and can't wait to get the whole set :)

I got to step out feeling like somebody should ask for my number.
LOL.

Morning After Shots!
I'm decked out in cool matte brown tones, just in time for Autumn trends.

Lovin' the cut as my hair looks THICKER and it is so easy to style!
I'm also liking the discreet olive highlights.

It gives my usually solid colored hair new dimensions.

And who doesn't love hair that so few people would contemplate?
