SHOOT: Picking Pennies with Aliaskhal.

Tuesday, August 30, 2011

Photobucket

You pick these moments to call me
like pennies from a wishing pond of your whims.

Photobucket

Pennies that as a favor to you I sometimes swallow, so in my silence I know nothing.

And looking at myself talking to you, I feel I know nothing..

Photobucket

..except maybe that this isn't what I look like more than how I want to be seen.

Photobucket

Or that maybe this is how I look in your eyes.

I may know nothing but I know that by next year,
my hair will be longer and I'll make it darker.

And it'll be funny to look at me then. I won't look exactly like you remember.

Photobucket

Then is when it will be my pennies for pickings
in a wishing pond of my whims that you won't have a reflection in.

Photobucket

But regardless, I'd trust you to still remember
my favourite words you helped me penny pick;

Photobucket

'More' and 'Next'.

Next.

OPTIMAX: EYES. LASER. OH YEAH. (PT3/3)

Monday, August 29, 2011

Photobucket

  • Within a day of rest I could see clearly.
  • And on the second day I went back to work (Did my work with sunglasses on!)
  • After a week, I didn't need to wear them anymore.
  • After 10 days I wore make up again!
  • After two weeks, I stopped wearing eye guards to sleep (Didn't need to but was scared I'd scratch my corneas out in my sleep on accident)
  • After a month, I stopped using eye drops every hour.
  • Now two months later, I don't notice any night glare (Got use to it, maybe)

Frankly, IT FEELS RIDICULOUSLY AMAZING.
Most days I forgot that I have almost perfect vision and have to stop myself from instinctively going to the bathroom to take out my 'contacts.'
And the initial dryness wasn't as bad as I was told, compared to how I used to feel by 7.30pm wearing contact lenses all day at work.

I can't recommend anyone considering All-Laser-Lasik to do a Richard Branson and 'Skrew it, just do it!' with whoever you like really.

I just did mine with Optimax and felt safe knowing I was in the qualified hands. It is my vision after all and honestly if I didn't find them I would have gone through Life not knowing what people who aren't spectacle shackled feel like.

Which is hard to imagine now with my almost perfect peepers.*

LIFE CHANGED.
:))))))

*still have my slight astigmatism but not noticeable

ZERONA in Malaysia: Laser Liposuction?!

Wednesday, August 24, 2011

Let me disclaim way ahead of this post that

I know, I am NOT fat.

#nondelusionalmodelapplause

Much unlike skinny girls who go "OMG, I’m like so freakin obese,"
I know that I am slim enough to gain a few kg of muscle even.

However, I tell you this with years of experience looking backstage at models and women in general;
Even slim people have ‘fatty’ areas. The kind that withstand slimming creams, diet and exercise.

And although I have some on my hips, I’d say the one I can’t ever seem to sweat off is the fat on…

Photobucket

…my inner thighs!

A lot of people say the only solution for stubborn fat deposit areas (Tummy, hips, inner thighs) is surgical procedures like Liposuction. But I personally don’t feel the need to put my health in considerable risk for vanity sake.
Liposuction is a surgical procedure and although it gives you results fast, it gives your body long term issues due to the fact it removes fat cells PERMANENTLY.

OMGTHATSAWESOME!

Not so much.
When you have no fat cells in one area, this happen....
Photobucket

 ..Oh yeah/Eww!
You can read up about Lipo's downsides at The New York Times.

So while looking for alternatives I heard of a laser specialty medical spa behind BSC that offers ‘Laser Liposuction’, I jumped at the offer to check it out for myself.

Photobucket

NARA MEDISPA is the first and only centre in Malaysia offering Zerona laser treatments.

The medical spa is spearheaded by their celebrity doctor of the Datins, Doctor Nadzri.

Photobucket

So what I got from my little Zerona aka 'Laser Liposuction' brief was this

1.CREDITBLE RESULTS:
Proven in clinical trials and published in American medical journals.

2. ZERO RECOVERY TIME:
Non evasive procedure.

3. PAINLESS:
Low level lasers give minimum to no sensation plus no contact with machinery or doctors.

But most importantly, ITS FDA APPROVED AND SAFE!

Photobucket

More Zerona information available here.

So with that, I went for a body analysis to decided where I was physically before I embarked on the trial treatment.

Photobucket

Was pretty sure I gained a bit after my Phuket holiday..

Photobucket

..and the numbers don't lie.
Gained 1kg :(

But on the bright side, I found out body fat was low and fitness level was high.
However, I do need to gain more muscle weight.

The great thing is, Zerona is not only for people who need to lose general body weight,
it is also for slim people who want to trim down on targeted 'fatty' areas, like me!

TREATMENT TIME!

NARA MEDISPA's  locker room is within the room itself :)

Photobucket

Photobucket

So, I stripped down and slapped on protective glasses to laser suit up! Hehe.

Photobucket

The looming Zerona machine...

Photobucket

...felt like the closest I'd get to an alien abduction ;P

Photobucket

Was quite apprenhensive but seriously felt NOTHING.
But internally, this was supposed to be happening to my fat!

So, round and round the laser went....

Photobucket

For 20 minutes on my back.

Photobucket\

And for 20 minutes lying flat.

Photobucket

*Tadaa*
That was the entire treatment to be continued every other days for two weeks for maximum results!

Oh ya, I was put on some supplementation to aid the results but not for the usual length.
Normally you take it a week before your first treatment and after.

Photobucket

But I just took it for the treatment time. Hoping for some results though *crosses fingers*
L-Carnatine is to burn the newly freed fats and Niacin is for blood circulation.

Will blog results soon as I need to head back to Nara to get em!
Till then you can check out at their new page here

Our Messier Fullness.

Monday, August 22, 2011

A day working from home while my litter of Loves live drowsy.

Here are my 2011 additions to the Teh-Liberty residence.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Tigro: 6 months since she was a crusty flea bitten kitten with patches from infection.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Bonnie and Mari-O.

Photobucket

Mari-O: 1 month rescue kitty from a deep ditch.
Still limping and meowing for his mom who left him there.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Clyde: No longer underfed, homeless or able to reproduce.
I get my pets neutered because I've been told too many times by others that they rather leave a kitten to die than take it home.

I live with 5 cats and it's messier than it used to be but a lot more full.
My housemate showed to be the kindest person who bottle fed these kittens (through scratches) and lives with them regardless of his allergies. He rather be sick than walk by them thinking their lives are too much a trouble.
So this post is for him :)
Now he can get back to work to earn more money to pay for the gourmet cat feed and manicures.

LOL.

Holiday@MAI KHAO, PHUKET (Pt2)

Driving About, Day 2.
It's hot in Phuket, so make sure you stay hydrated!

Photobucket

With untainted liquids, that is ;)
Had nowhere to put my shell stash so I soaked them in the hotels wine glasses and almost drank it.
#improvisationfail

Since Mai Khao is a secluded getaway,
Dimps and I decided to spend our second day driving around other parts of the island.
Photobucket

It was cheaper for us to rent a car with the hotel than book one prior strangely.
1200baht instead of 1600baht (RM120/RM160) for a Toyota Vios/day.

Oh ya! Finally got to take a picture of RENAISSANCE entrance on the way out :)

Photobucket

When it comes to thai textile, I'm a huge Jim Thompson fan
(And not because he disappeared in Cameron Highlands, Malaysia.)

And for those of you who don't know, they have 2 factory outlets in Phuket!

Photobucket

Drove to Canal Village just to raid it!
Makes great (and less touristy) souvenier for family and friends plus a good time to stock up on printed day bags and scarves.

Here is a KL picture peek of my entire collection (Minus 1 or 2 still in my family home)
.

Photobucket

(Think the cushions are Jim Thompson too. My housemate is such a fan also!)

While there, Dimps got me this to add to it!

Photobucket

LOVE! :)

Anyhow, it was a scenic 40 minute drive to Patong that we  enjoyed while listening to Thai pop on the radio.

Photobucket

Found ourselves under Jungceylon, Rat-U-Thit Road at Food Haven for lunch!
I finally deviated from less oily/extra spicy Pad Thai and opted for less oily/extra spicy glass noodles.

Photobucket

Adventurous much?
I just know what I like :)

From there we walked to the infamous Bangla Road but strippers need sleep too.
So we drove to Patong Beach for tea instead.

Photobucket

And in Thailand, tea for me is frozen coconut juice!
So glad we didn't stay near Patong.. The water looks like Milo :(

However, the unswimmable areas furthur down look pretty decent.

Photobucket

And you can park your car by the roadside to sample a bunch of motorbike-makeshift food stalls,
where we found banana pancakes!

Photobucket

..or what I called Thai Roti Canai!
Only 40baht (RM4) for us 'Singaporean Tourists'.
We assumed everyone thought so because we speak good England.
Owh, I mean English :)

On a side note, driving about Phuket was pretty scary because we noticed a lot of trucks tilting from overload.

Photobucket

We were hunting from Premium Mall but their website failed us and we ended up going back and forth around the island. So for the record, the huge outlet mall is further down from Bypass Road.

No pictures because we were so glad to finally find it (After 2 hours) and when we did, Dimps left me alone and lost me. Seriously. I was alone for 40 minutes not knowing how to find him because he changed his sim card and didn't think to leave me the number :'((
HE LOST ME!
*Ok, to be fair, I run around/get distracted a lot*
So when he found me, he didn't let me out of his sight for the rest of the trip:)

All in all, it was a long day and we just wanted to have a quick dinner wherever and head back to Mai Khao.
Made our way to Phuket Town for random restauranting.

Photobucket

It's called Fine Day.

Photobucket

It came off as a youthful Thai filled restaurant that isn't very authentically Thai.
Little did we know..

Photobucket

Phuket Town is NOT for tourists.
SPICIEST THAI FOOD EVER!
And not even by request! SO. GOOD ;')))))
I even ate rice just so the tom yam wouldn't burn a hole through to my kidneys.

It was Saturday night and there were fireworks nearby that we got to watch while eating.
Add to that, the super friendly non english speaking owner gave us free shots!
Highly recommend  Fine Day at Chumphon Road to any spicy food lovers who are in Phuket Town who want to migle with young Thai people instead of tourists.

Lux Lounging, Day 3!

Another morning of nipping the buffet spread..

Photobucket

..and their breakfast ice cream :)
It's a holiday right?

Photobucket

Took a walk around RENAISSANCE again to ease the guilt.

Child pool area with slide next to the nursery.

Photobucket

We spotted a grasshopper amongts the lush greenery...

Photobucket

..and I asked Dimps if we should give it to a Thai person to fry.
He said only if I eat it.
-______________________-"

Went back to the pool by the beach...

Photobucket

And decided we should try to counter-photosynthesize the food we ate in the sun :)

Photobucket

Was quite windy so swimming was a no-no as the waves were pretty high..

Photobucket

...but no one said I couldn't dip my toes in it's remnants.

A couple hours and a bath later, we found ourselves peckish so we decided to have a bite...

Photobucket

..with the best view at the hotel lounge of the sun setting.

Photobucket

So nice to nestle under the light warmth of the day :)

Photobucket

Not without something to drink, of course :)
The deli at the hotel had tons of interesting coffee table books..

Photobucket

This was my favourite book, to Dimps horror.
This book was far cuter though.

Photobucket

It made me miss all my champagne sippin' ladies in KL!

Came dinner time, we decided to check out Sala Resort and Spa next door..

Photobucket

Awesome water lobby :)

Photobucket

And unique bling bird cage lights I'm going to try to recreate someday!

Photobucket

Yes, I was still gushing over the deco.
Who wouldn't want this at the side of their garden?

Photobucket

Glad we managed to reach their fine dining fusion
Thai restaurant by sunset...

Photobucket

Photobucket

But unfortunately, the ambience was to make up for the underwhelming food.

Basil chicken and cashew with vegetables.

Photobucket

Chilli and lime fish.

Photobucket

I guess Living in KL where great Thai food is so affordable and having more than decent local food all about Phuket, the hoity toity restaurant seemed somewhat disappointing.

Ah well, the ambience an sitting on their big tree swings in the dark together was well worth the visit to Sala :)

Check Out, Day 4.

Packed our bags by 2 and checked out.

Photobucket

Ok, Dimps checked out.
I stared at the wall.

Photobucket

And the huge water feature we think is some cryptic sexual message.

Photobucket

Then we left our bags and took the hotel buggy back to the other side of Mai Khao lake...

Photobucket

To have our last Thai meal for our holiday!
Made sure I picked a good dish and what's more commercially Thai than...

Photobucket

 ....Pinepple Rice :)

So that was our little Phuket getaway.
Got a mental time out with a tan to match ;)

And the airport wants you to remember...

Photobucket

LOL
